Why does the troposphere have higher pressure than the mesosphere?

I think because that because it is the closest one to the ground the Grass floor it releases air pressure at the same time and as it gets higher it mixes with the air and gets bgger and bigger and bigger still untill it reaches past the troposphere and into the stratosphere it starts to get thinner and thinner until it reaches the final type of atmosphere thermosphere and then you go out to space
